Moving Checklist

Six Weeks to Go

• Are you renting? Give your landlord written notice of your moving out date
• Set a date for your move and call us on 01202 979 035
• Get rid of clutter in your house
• Book several days off work
• Pack away non-essential items
• Inform utility companies of your move and take readings on the day
• Begin using your the contents in your freezer and cupboards

Two Weeks to Go

• Notify the bank of your change of address
• Redirect your post
• Carrying on packing items as you use them less
• Arrange someone to mind your children and pets if you have any
• Inform people you know about your address change
• Inform your Dr/Dentist/Optician about change of address and de-register if you are not living with the catchment area
• Defrost the fridge/freezer
• Set a date to pick up the keys from the estate agents

The Day Before

• Finish packing away your last bits and bobs
• Place important documents somewhere safe
• Have a box for moving essentials things like tea, kettle, milk, coffee and sugar
• Have your wallet/purse and car keys on you
